This cabinet reface project in San Clemente, CA began as most of our projects do: outdated cabinets in disrepair. The color was a bit putrid, and the doors were falling apar. The lighting was horrendous with mismatched colors and burnt-out bulbs.
After a free in home consult with our Clients, we decided on a beautiful and elegant door style with a clean white color thermofoil. Children are likely on the horizon here so we went with a thermofoil reface for its durability, low maintenance, and easy of cleaning. Taking precise measurements for the new cabinetry, we put our new doors and drawer components into production.
The install took about one week to complete on this cabinet reface project. We begin by removing all of the old doors and drawers. We made some simple modifications to the existing cabinets to improve functionality, such as removing the mid-stiles on the upper cabinets to improve access. Then we permanently attached thermofoil laminates to the exterior surfaces of their existing cabinets.
New doors with soft-close hinges and new drawers with undermounted soft-close runners make this kitchen a dream to use. They will never again have to hassle with a drawer falling out or a door that just will not stay closed! And with a new trash roll-out cabinet, the waste bins will stay out of sight until needed. We added new glass shelves and beautiful Victorian glass to two display cabinets. Lighting in the displays and under the wall cabinets stands out. The new lighting is beautiful and adds a fantastic ambiance to the room at night.
